So I tried to narrow down the pictures from this weekend's epic race, the Dick Evan's Memorial Road Race, but honestly 112 miles of action and over 1000 epic pictures is hard to narrow down. Although I'm slow to commit and it took a lot of effort for the race organizer (Nguyen Le) to get me to shoot, I don't regret one moment of it, not even when it poured as we were going 40 miles an hour. It was amazing sitting on the back of the motorcycle for such an event and having front row seats to watch what I imagine the Tour de France to be like: I got to see the accidents, attacks and endurance of these amazing racers. Better yet, I knew at least half of them personally, which made it exciting. The only thing better than racing is definitely sitting on the back of a motor powered bike taking pictures of people killing themselves. Ok actually I probably enjoyed my job more. Plus it was a killer core and leg workout trying to hang on for dear life. Thank God my driver Milton was an awesome driver and helped me stay on! Fun times yelling at him to speed up so the breakaway group wouldn't draft. I would have done the same thing, if only I were that fast! Anyway, spectacular day, amazing job riders and volunteers! A hui hou!
